Schafer Horses and kennels is a small facility located in
Keosauqua Iowa. While we primarily breed Foundation
Quarter horses with amazing color. We strive to breed high
quality horses with good bone and cow sense suited for trails
and arena work. All of our horses are born with pleasing
dispositions, incredible conformation and stunning color.
So, whether you are looking for your next cow horse, a
barrel horse or just your wonderful big bodied flashy trail
horse we can help....

As I had to many horses and have lost my job we decided
to cut down on mouths to feed around here. This has
been a hard decision to make but it needed to be !! With
the horse market the way it is and plus I didn't have
time for all of them. We have gotten rid of several and
hope it is enough!! I think i have every thing updated
from the sales of them. We still have the conformation,
disposition, color and pedigree  the same as before. Check
out the pages to see what changes we have made! WE
WANT TO THANK EACH AND EVERY ONE THAT HAS
BOUGHT ANY OF OUR HORSES, MULES OR PUPPIES.  
With the horse market the way it is I will be breeding
only one of the mares this spring. (Gotta have a baby to
play with!)
  As you see I have sold my Jack so probably no more
mules unless we take the mares to one. (Which i do have
one located!!)
